Independence Day 2.................and 3?

Yep, original helmer Roland Emmerich (Who does all those CGI heavy but wafer-thin plot movies like Godzilla, The Day After Tomorrow, 2012) has been banging on about this for the past few months but lately more solid information has been put out.

Apparently, Will Smith is set for the 2 installments and they will be filmed back-to-back so they'll release the 2 films about 6 months apart (like Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions)

You're probably wondering why the hell anyone would make a sequel to this, especially after 14 years.  Well, the obvious answer is money (the 1st took in about $800 million) and 20th Century Fox are swamped with money after the insane success of Avatar (2 point fucking 6 billion dollars?)

No doubt they'll look epicly brilliant but you'd find a better plot at the bottom of a potcheen bottle.

Again, these 2 are hoping to be set for a 2012-ish release before we all die that year.

Uncle Phil is gonna be real angry when he finds out what Will & Carlton did to the house.
