Four Lions tells the story of a group of British jihadists who push their abstract dreams of glory to the breaking point. As the wheels fly off, and their competing ideologies clash, what emerges is an emotionally engaging (and entirely plausible) farce. In a storm of razor-sharp verbal jousting and large-scale set pieces, Four Lions is a comic tour de force; it shows that-while terrorism is about ideology-it can also be about idiots.
Four Lions is a new film from satire king Chris Morris (The Day Today, Jam, Brass Eye) that focuses on 4 jihadists idiots who try to blow up something to become martyrs. It's essentially a comedy but also a satire on those who get wrapped up in what they supposedly believe in.
Morris is never one to hold back on a subject so more than likely we'll be hearing alot about this when it hits the cinema. It's done it's run at the Sundance Film Festival to great reviews so thats one comfort in knowing that it's more hit than miss!
No release date as of yet for UK & Irish release but hopefully it'll be soon, haven't seen a good comedy in a long time! Here's a clip that was released earlier from the film:
