THE EXPENDABLES is a hard-hitting action/thriller about a group of mercenaries hired to infiltrate a South American country and overthrow its ruthless dictator. Once the mission begins, the men realize things arent quite as they appear, finding themselves caught in a dangerous web of deceit and betrayal. With their mission thwarted and an innocent life in danger, the men struggle with an even tougher challenge one that threatens to destroy this band of brothers.
Come on, Stallone? Statham? Li? Rourke? Lundgren? Willis? Arnie? Roberts? Austin? This is gonna be a classic OTT, violent, popcorn action flick time machine that only goes back to the 80's. It's essentially a nostalgic throwback to those action movies of yesteryear and it's out in August. Definitely seeing this one in the cinema!
Stallone might not be the greatest actor but, dammit, he knows what the fans want! I still think Rambo 4 was the best comedy of 2008, I never laughed so hard in the cinema as he brutally turned everyone into red mist! Plus there's gonna be a scene with just Sly, Willis, and Arnie taunting each other (The 3 biggest action stars of the 80's & 90's)
Don't be expecting Oscar-worthy arthouse fun here, if you loved old-skool action flicks then this is the one for you!
