Alternate Endings

Here we have a wee compilation of alternate endings of some famous movies.  Some of which would have drastically changed the outcome of following sequels / franchise.

Obvviously you'd be a bit of an idiot if you watched these without having seen the actual movies but the ones I chose are pretty well-known.................so shame on you if you haven't seen them, I guess.

1st up is the alternate ending to Rambo: First Blood.  This ending was actually in line with what happened in the book though thinking that Rambo wouldn't continue gunning down hordes of commies in a further 3 sequels (a 4th is due next year) is horrifying!!

Probably the only time you're ever going to see a shot dead Rambo.

Heh, speaking of which this is probably what Rambo should've done in First Blood Part II when he was abandoned in Vietnam:

Next up is the alternate ending for Terminator 2 where nothing actually happened after all.  James Cameron was planning on using this as the actual ending but then thought that it was a bit too happy for an over-all bleak film.  That and the studios wanted to keep the possibilites of future sequels open.

Had this being used we wouldn't have been subjected to Terminator 3 & Salvation *groan*

As far as James Cameron is concerned the story ended at the 2nd film, which is why he has nothing to do with the further sequels.  They're obviously just cash cows with no real thought towards the actual concept.  I mean, a PG-13 Terminator movie (Terminator Salvation)?  Fuck off!

The rights have been sold off again after Terminator Salvation so the next inevitable sequels have been promised to be different...............Hmmmm, wonder where I heard that before?

Now, here's a bit of an odd one.  This is the alternative ending to Die Hard With A Vengence no doubt!  In this scene Jeremy Iron's character gets away with it and is seen relaxing in a cafe somewhere in Europe.  McClane tracks him down and a bit of a dark scenario opens up.  Had this been used the wimpy Die Hard 4 (Another fuckin' PG-13 film) would have at least shown McClane to be a bit of a more twisted character.

The studio thought this was a bit too evil on McClane's part as he killed in Vengence (geddit?) rather than in self-defence:

Here's an alternate ending to 28 Days Later:
